Drivers beware: spring snowfall in southern BC
PRINCE GEORGE- Rainy conditions are expected around north-central BC today and many communities could be seeing spring thundershowers into Saturday afternoon. However, it’s a different story to the south. If you’re traveling this weekend, be sure to check DriveBC for the latest road and weather conditions as a special weather advisory has been issued for several mountain passes. Environment Canada is warning of spring snowfall today. It says a Pacific frontal system is moving across the south and snow will develop over the highway passes beginning early this morning. Near the Coquihalla summit and the Kootenay Pass, 10 to 15 centimetres of snow is expected this afternoon, with an additional five to 10 centimetres tonight. Across the province, wet conditions are expected to continue until Sunday evening.
