Murray Ridge Ski Area hosts record setting fundraiser ahead of opening weekend
PRINCE GEORGE- Tis the season of ski-hills and chalets… almost anyways. It’s mid-November and that means ski areas across Northern BC are gearing up for opening weekend… with the stagnate air clearing up and snowfall on the way, it’s looking like a promising season for the hills around Prince George.
And hour and a half east, at Murray Ridge, the mountain ops team is chomping at the bit to get out and prep for the new year. That’s according to General Manager Jana Gainor, who’s sensing an busy season on the way, if their recent Cocktail and Auction fundraiser, which pulled in a record 30K, is any indication of the public’s appetite for winter fun, after two long years of pandemic isolation.
The event this past weekend saw the return of live music in the Murray Ridge lounge, PG local’s Patchwork played the first set in the lounge since COVID-19 shut down live events nearly 3 years ago. Snowboards and Ski sets were among the items auctioned off, as eager new riders, and veterans alike, get ready to lace up their ski boots and strap in to their boards, for another exciting season on our world class mountains.
