Spruce Kings win 2-1 battle over Warriors Friday

KELOWNA — The Prince George Spruce Kings won a close battle with the West Kelowna Warriors 2-1 at home.

PG secures their 13th win of the season over the Warriors in the first of a pair of games against West Kelowna.

The win improves the Spruce Kings’ record to 13-6-1-1 which places them as the second seed in the Interior Division.

In the losing effort on the other side, the Warriors see their record fall to 12-6-2-0.

Austin Fraser proved to be the hero on the night giving the Spruce Kings the winning goal in the final period.

Fraser gave PG the win on the powerplay on a broken play scoring his second of the game and both Spruce Kings goals.

Both squads will rematch Saturday facing off for the second time in two nights. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. at the Kopar Memorial Arena.
