Reversal of autism funding plan comes to relief of local parents, stakeholders
PRINCE GEORGE – Hundreds of families in Northern BC are breathing easier following the announcement that BC Premier David Eby would not be cutting individualized autism funding.
This comes after a long battle between parents and the provincial government who previously planned to phase out funding and pivot to a new system with a focus on new family connections centres.
“Every child in B.C. should have the supports they need to thrive,” said Premier Eby. “We are focused on listening to families of children and youth with support needs. We will work collaboratively with all partners to make sure our services work for every child.”
