Food for Fare program returns December 7-9
PRINCE GEORGE — The Food for Fare program returns next week.
It means from December 7-9, BC Transit riders can pay their fare in non-perishable food items with donations going to the Salvation Army.
“We are really excited to partner with the City of Prince George to bring back the Food for Fare event. It’s a great way for our customers to give back to the community and ride the bus for free,” says BC Transit’s Lindsay Taylor. “For those who have never used the Prince George Transit System, this is a great opportunity to hop on the bus with a food donation and give it a try.”
“Food for Fare is a great Prince George tradition that I’m happy to see return for another year,” says Mayor Simon Yu. “The holiday season is not just about gift-giving and parties, but also about charity towards friends, neighbours, and our community. Every donation to our local Salvation Army and food bank makes a big difference for families in need this time of year.”
