Inaugural Flair flight to Tucson takes off today

PRINCE GEORGE — The inaugural flight between Prince George and Tucson took off today, and this new link to Arizona is welcome from many.

A flight to Tucson, Arizona may just sound like the right place to escape from the cold right now, and for the lucky passengers on board Flair Airlines flight 2017, they will get to experience some warm weather in just a few hours time.

Mayor Simon Yu spoke at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the direct flight to Tucson, and is very happy the flight is taking place.

Gordon Duke, president and CEO of the Prince George Airport Authority, says that this is a great opportunity for the city and for the airport.

Unfortunately, the flight did not take off until 4:14 p.m., over four hours later than its scheduled takeoff time of 11:45 a.m.

Flair Airlines will operate this four hour direct flight to Tucson, on a Boeing 737 MAX 8, every Friday at 11:45 a.m. until March.
