CHILLIWACK — The Prince George Spruce Kings are going to the holiday break with a loss to the Chilliwack Chiefs.

Following an overtime win the night before, the Spruce Kings were in Chilliwack looking to go into the break riding high.

In Saturday’s loss, PG almost completed a comeback but the Chiefs ultimately prevailed.

The Chiefs managed to get ahold of a lead throughout the first forty minutes of the game leading 3-1 going into the final period.

Prince George had a lot of fight in them though to cut the lead as Kai Greaves scored a powerplay goal to start off the period in PG’s favour.

With the score now 3-2 for Chilliwack, Prince George went on the attack with shot after shot on the Chiefs’ goalie.

The Spruce Kings outshot the Cheifs 13-2 in the final frame but fell short of a comeback as Chilliwack escapes with a win.

Now going into the holiday break, the Spruce Kings will have time to make adjustments as they won’t play again until December 30th.

Prince George will head to the U.S. just before the new year to play the Wenatchee Wild for the first of a two-game series.
