RCMP investigating rash of parcel thefts
PRINCE GEORGE — If your package arrived empty this holiday season, you’re not alone.
Prince George RCMP say they’re currently investigating several incidents where people have picked up or received packages delivered by Canada Post where the bottom of the boxes have been cut open and resealed with tape.
“The packages are either missing several items or the boxes are arriving empty,” says Cpl. Jennifer Cooper. “A large range of items have been reported stolen so far, including individually wrapped presents, clothing, and electronics.”
She says investigators are looking to speak with anyone who has received a package like this any time since late October. You can call RCMP at (250)561-3300 to speak with an investigator. Quote file number 2022-41505.
