Cougar d-man signs contract with Philadelphia Flyers

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Cougars defenceman Ethan Samson has signed an entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Samson, a sixth round draft pick of the Flyers in 2021, has 27 points this year with the Cougars with 11 goals and 16 assists.

“It’s just amazing. It has been a crazy couple of days and I’m so happy it’s happened,” said Samson after putting pen to paper.

The 6’3, 183-pound native of Delta ranks T2 nd on the Cougars in power-play goals and T-1st among team defencemen in goals and second in assists and points this season. Samson collected two goals and one assist in the 10-6 win over the Blazers on New Year’s Eve which has him 12th all time in Cougars points among all defencemen (88 Points).
