Northern Health issues overdose alert for Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE — Northern Health has issued a drug alert for the city of Prince George.

In a news release issued Friday (Jan. 6), the health authority says there has been “an increase in sudden overdose events” in the city.

Impacts of the toxic substances include prolonged sedation that requires several naloxone doses in order to return the user to consciousness.

NH says the impacts are being noticed when drugs are smoked or injected.
