Shift in weather leading to icy, dangerous conditions
PRINCE GEORGE — Many in Prince George woke up to icy driveways, roads and sidewalks this morning after last night’s rainfall froze over causing dangerous conditions for those walking and driving.
By mid afternoon, many roads had cleared up to just slush but some were still very much icy. Despite the conditions, police say that few incidents had been reported.
Environment Canada says that this type of weather we have been experiencing will stay with us for just a bit longer. A cooling trend will arrive in the next few days, but not bringing super cold temperatures. Warm, southern air is pushing north causing the warm temperatures.
