RCMP investigate $500K in damages to Vanderhoof Aquatic Centre

VANDERHOOF — Mounties in Vanderhoof are seeking tips from the public after vandals allegedly caused $500,000 in damages Friday (Dec.23) to the Vanderhoof Aquatic Centre.

North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says 130,000 gallons of water flooded the maintenance room of the Aquatic Centre.

“This caused extensive damage to the pool’s mechanical heating and filtration systems. The investigation to date has revealed evidence to suggest that the flooding was intentionally caused.”
