Morris not running in next election, set to retire from politics
PRINCE GEORGE – The riding of Prince George-Mackenzie will have a new MLA whenever the next provincial election falls.
MLA Mike Morris said after a lengthy period of public service he will be stepping aside to enjoy life away from politics with his family, and the outdoors.
“I’ve been in politics now for ten years, and there’s another election coming up, maybe in the fall of 2024, maybe sooner, I’ll be fair to the people of Prince George-Mackenzie I’m not going to be running,” said Morris. “I think it’s time for somebody that has a vision for Prince George-Mackenzie, the region, and the province. I want to give them time to put their vision together and articulate it to everybody and perhaps run in the next election in my spot.”
