PRINCE GEORGE- Duchess Park Secondary School is packed this week with a spring break camp hosted by the Prince George Kodiaks in partnership with School District 57.

Geared toward vulnerable children in the region, the Kodiaks are prioritizing giving back to PG at a time when kids on spring break may not have much to do.

“The school district supported this quite well with some education assistance and they’ve been just marvellous to work with,” said Kodiaks Head Coach Jamie Boreham.

The camps at Duchess are also an opportunity for the football team to grow the game in northern BC and give all kids their chance.

“What we’re trying to do is do something for the community so that we can help all players play,” said Craig Briere, the president of the Prince George Kodiaks.

Staffing the camps throughout the week has been a rotation of eight to ten Kodiaks coaches. Players have also been participating.
