Feddema secures first BCHL shutout in Spruce Kings win over Silverbacks
PRINCE GEORGE — After losing 4-3 on Friday (Mar.17) against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, the Prince George Spruce Kings responded on Saturday (Mar.18) with a powerful performance. Defeating the Silverbacks 4-0 at Kopar Memorial Arena.
Both teams played well defensively throughout the first period. However, it was Kilian McGregor-Bennett who would strike first for Prince George at 18:52 of the frame to give his team a 1-0 lead going into intermission.
In the second, the Spruce Kings would outshoot the Silverbacks 10-5 and get one of their two powerplay opportunities in the process. Austin Fraser would score on the man advantage to give Prince George a two goal cushion heading into the third.
Two more goals would be scored by Prince George courtesy of Ty Gagno and Jake Schneider to give the Spruce Kings a hard fought win. Aidan Feddema was lights out in net, stopping all 27 shots he faced en route to his first shutout in the BCHL.
