Structure fire on Tamarack St. causes $200,000 in damage

PRINCE GEORGE — Black smoke filled the sky as a house fire broke out on Tamarack Street yesterday evening.

In a press release from the City of Prince George, crews were called to the 2000 block of Tamarack Street shortly before 5 pm Wednesday evening for a report of a structure fire. On arrival, crews found a fully involved garage with fire extending into the attic of the home and a neighboring garage.

Crews worked quickly to extinguish the main body of the fire, which was located between the two homes. Damage to homes is estimated to be at $200,000 dollars.

No occupants were found in either home, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
