PRINCE GEORGE — Two male youth, aged 14 and 17, were recently arrested in connection with a drug bust in Prince George.

It followed the execution of a search warrant at a home on the 1200 block of Central Street East on May 26 with Mounties seizing 1.5 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, cash and a loaded firearm.

RCMP say the suspects are from the Lower Mainland and known to police. They were released to the ministry of children and family development, with future court dates.

“During recent investigations, police have identified a trend of youth being recruited by organized crime groups, many of which are connected to the B.C. Gang Conflict, to commit offenses on behalf of their organizations. If anyone suspects a youth of being used to commit crimes, they are encouraged to contact the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line to speak with an investigator,” says Prince George RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.
