Police close Highway 16 East near Willow River due to MVI

PRINCE GEORGE — Update: RCMP confirm one person was killed in this morning’s crash while Drive BC estimates the highway will reopen at 2:30 p.m.

Earlier: Prince George RCMP are currently at the scene of a motor vehicle incident on Highway 16 East near the Willow River rest area.

Police say that the incident was between a motorcycle and a semi-trailer truck. Police say that the highway will be shut down in both directions for an unknown period of time and are working to determine if there any detours in the area.

Drivers are advised to check with DriveBC before heading out today.
