How to make the most out of your watering for gardens, shrubs, and trees

Dry conditions have made this summer very stressful on crops, gardens, and the trees or shrubs in your yard. The heightened drought level makes it even more important to water whatever you have the right way.

Jos Van Hage, owner and operator of Art Knapp Prince George said this is one of the driest years he can remember. Van Hage said practicing deep watering with your larger shrubs and trees is important to make sure you can keep them healthy and prevent them from dying over the winter. Watering your plants and your garden with a strategy is also something to remember. According to Van Hage we are now in a similar watering need to those in Kamloops and the Okanagan instead of our usual Central Interior habits.
