Demolition of former Mackenzie Elementary School starts this week

MACKENZIE — The demolition of the former Mackenzie Elementary School is slated to begin this week.

The demolition project was tendered through BC Bid and has been awarded to Napp Enterprises Ltd – a Prince George based contractor.

School District 57 expects the work to be wrapped up the end of November. For safety reasons, community construction fencing will be set up around the site.

Anyone with concerns is asked to contact the Prince George District 57 Administration Office.

Last month, the school district said it had received many requests to remove the building as it has become a nuisance and potential risk to the community.
