PRINCE GEORGE — More international help has arrived to fight wildfires in northern B.C.

The Prince George Fire Centre says 215 South African firefighters are setting off camp just off Highway 16 near the airport and will shuttle back and forth between the Vanderhoof region and Prince George to assist in firefighting efforts.

The South Africans were previously helping out in the Kamloops Fire Centre and will be here at least two weeks.

Their help is dearly needed as they are still close to 400 active wildfires burning in British Columbia, including 125 in the Prince George Fire Centre.
