PRINCE GEORGE – There were dogs, dogs, and more dogs of all breeds and sizes at the CN Centre Rodeo grounds this weekend as Ned’s Wish and the Sirius K9 Working Dog Club partnered together to host the annual 7 km walk or run.

This event welcomes everyone regardless of whether you have a dog or not, and if you missed out on it this year, you can catch it next year.

“Everybody and anybody who wants to join can come. It’s an annual event, so we do ask that you register. We usually start at the beginning of the year planning ahead.”

– Chelsea Dormuth, Sirius K9 Working Dog Club

Just like working adults, these K9s experience retirement and the money raised for Ned’s Wish goes to help a variety of things when it comes to the end of the dogs’ careers.

“The funding typically goes to fund medical treatment. These dogs are high-end athletes. They work very hard. They’re exposed to a ton of things that could cause injury or really negative experiences throughout their service. So, they tend to have a few more aches and pains in retirement. Ned’s Wish assists with the costs associated with that, so that they can comfortably retire, and enjoy their retirement years.”

– CPL. Colin Warwick, Supporter of Ned’s Wish
