Kings beat Merritt for first win of the season

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings celebrated their first win of the season Saturday, a 5-3 triumph over the visiting Merritt Centennials, in front of 701 fans at Kopar Memorial Arena,

Skogen Schrott scored the game winner at the 2:40 mark of the third period, his second marker of the season.

Scott Cousins, Alexis Cournoyer, Kilian McGregor-Bennett and JR Perdion had the other goals for Prince George.

The Kings outshot their opponents 42-29, with Marcus Ouellet getting the win between the pipes.
