Prince George breaks two weather records in hot Thanksgiving weekend

PRINCE GEORGE—Prince George has experienced a record breaking thanksgiving weekend.

According to Environment Canada, Saturday (October 7) the mercury rose to 22.7 degrees. This breaks the record set in 2010 of 21.4 degrees.

Sunday’s, record also fell when the temperature rose to 22.4 degrees at around 4 p.m. This breaks a much older record 1943 of 21.7 degrees Celsius.

Other communities across the province also experienced record breaking heat with Quesnel topping an over 100 year old record, hitting 23 degrees on Saturday. The previous record of 22.2 was set back in 1919.
