PRINCE GEORGE – Premier David Eby used the Natural Resources Forum dinner to announce a significant investment in BC’s energy options moving forward.

BC Hydro will spend $36 billion dollars over ten years for community and regional infrastructure projects for BC Hydro to expand its electricity capacity.

The plan reflects the “growing demand for electricity across sectors population growth and housing construction, increased industrial development, and people and businesses switching from fossils fuels to clean electricity…”

Also announced was a plan to implement a new streamlined, one-window approval process to speed up the approval process.

These new construction projects are expected to support 10,500 to 12,500 jobs on average annually.
