RCMP respond to vehicle fire on Gibraltor Mines Road

MCLEESE LAKE — Williams Lake RCMP responded to a vehicle fire on Gibraltor Mine Road in McLeese Lake early Tuesday morning (March 19).
According to police, the vehicle involved was a single-tank truck hauling explosive material. The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. As a result, the Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) was contacted and a 1.6-kilometer radius was established.
The vehicle is no longer on fire; however, investigators are unable to get to the area for scene examination at this time. More details may be released as they become available. There is no further information available at this time.
