Trudeau mourns Campagnolo, first UNBC chancellor, former B.C. Lieutenant-Governor

Former B.C. Lieutenant-Governor Iona Campagnolo has died.

She was 91.

Campagnolo was the first female Lieutenant Governor of the province, the first woman president of the Liberal Party of Canada and the first chancellor of the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a statement he is mourning the passing of Campagnolo, along with Canadians.
