Teen Art Showcase award winners honoured

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Public Library and Prince George and District Community Arts Council honoured teenage artists on Saturday (April 6) at a downtown reception.

They handed out five awards at the Teen Art Showcase.

Quinn Corbett took home two awards (peoples’ choice and best use of materials) while Elya Foreman (best overall), Susie Maurice (best social commentary) and Roxie Aronson (most original) picked up one award each.

“On behalf of the Prince George and District Community Arts Council and Studio 2880, we are thrilled with the talent demonstrated by so many of our local youth,” Lisa Redpath, the Prince George and District Community Arts Council’s program manager, said in a press release.

“In its eighth year, the Teen Art Showcase continues to spotlight the creativity, dedication and hard work achieved by these amazing local artisans, as well as the community that supports them.”
