Downtown fire causes $150K in damages

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a commercial structure fire on the 1300 block of 5th Avenue Tuesday morning (April 9).

According to the City of Prince George, crews arrived on scene at 4 a.m. to find smoke and flame coming from the alley behind a multi-unit commercial occupancy. Crews worked for four hours to contain the fire to the unit of origin. No one was in the building at the time of the fire.

Damages are estimated at $150,000 and the cause is currently under investigation.

There were no injuries.
