PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George and District Elizabeth Fry Society’s former Financial Manager Rhonda Lee Bailey received a jail sentence of two and a half years at Prince George court today.

Charged with fraud over $5,000, Bailey used two credit cards issued by the non-profit organization to run up $240,000 in personal expenses. On top of the two and a half years of jail time, the judge also issued a restitution amount of $240,000.

An investigation determined the unauthorized expenditures began in January 2013, and an audit in May of 2018 uncovered missing credit card statements. From there, the two credit cards were found in a banker’s box under Bailey’s desk. During that time period, the investigation said more than 1,000 transactions took place, totalling up to the $240,000.

These purchases included things like vacations, flights, hotels, meals, makeup, clothing, miscellaneous online shopping, dog kennelling fees, and more.
