Evacuation order in place for Kuyakuz Lake area

The Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre on Friday (Aug. 9) night issued an evacuation order for 30 parcels in the Kuyakuz Lake Area due to immediate danger to life safety due to fire.

People in the area of the order that covers 33,648 hectares are asked to leave immediately and use the evacuation route east to Quesnel.

An evacuation alert has been issued in the same area for 28 parcels because of potential danger to life and health.
