Teamsters union issues 72-hour strike notice against CN

The Teamsters union has issued a 72-hour strike notice against Canadian National Railway, as it pushes back hard against the federal government’s move to get them back on the job.
This comes as C-N trains started rolling again this morning after a Canada-wide work stoppage yesterday that impacted freight shipments and caused commuter headaches.
Meantime, Canadian Pacific Kansas City trains are still not moving as the Teamsters challenge a directive for binding arbitration issued by Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon yesterday.
Business groups have warned of the economic consequences of the work stoppage and urged Ottawa to step in to kick-start freight service.
