UNBC Timberwolves soccer team winless after opening weekend

ABBOTSFORD — The UNBC Timberwolves men’s soccer team lost their first two opening games of the season on the road to the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades over the weekend.

On Friday night (Aug.23), the Timberwolves fell 4-1 with Prince George product Connor Lewis scoring the first goal of UNBC’s season. UNBC generated 10 shots on goal to UFV’s 8. Mateo Brazinha scored three goals and an assist for UFV.

On Sunday (Aug.25) UFV defeated UNBC 2-0. They also outshot UNBC 17-8.

Up next for UNBC is a pair of games this weekend agains the visiting Victoria Vikes at Masich Place Stadium. The teams play Friday night at 6 p.m. and again Saturday at 6 p.m.
