PRINCE GEORGE— The Thanksgiving long weekend got started in Prince George with the Fallfest taking place downtown. Many community members old and young came down to check out the unique Farmers Market vendors and activities.

“It’s just so great to be down here. We’ve got so many good vendors that come and they draw in a lot of folks, and, there’s a real community feel here, ” said owner of PG Urban Shroomery Josh Halsband from his vendor on Saturday.

“It’s a beautiful little family. All the different markets, all the different vendors, all different people. It’s always a great social experience,” said owner of Third Eye Dye from her vendor at Fallfest.

Although the Farmers Market runs every Saturday, Fallfest is one of their busiest days of the year.

“It’s nice to see all these extra people down here and and coming down into downtown. it’s it’s a great place to be and we’ve got a lot of activities,” said Halsband.

Along with the vendors, there was live music, a pancake breakfast at the Legion, donkeys, a food hamper draw and free pumpkins, making it an enjoyable outing for all.

Despite the weather getting cold, the Farmers Market will continue to run indoors throughout the winter, including Halsband’s vendor.

“You can come in and get the fresh mushrooms all year long, as well as other great vendors that are inside over the winter time too.”
