PRINCE GEORGE— Say hello to Missy a two-year-old Anatolian Shepherd who came into the care with some unknow head injuries. Brendan Dick an animal care attendant explains that she was found by someone who brought her into a vet. Afterwards the vet surrendered Missy to continue her care.

While she has healed physically, Missy does exhibit some odd behaviour that the vet is looking into

“She sort of rolls on her knuckles sometimes and maybe can’t feel the bottoms of her feet,” explains Brendan.

The most recent vet exam shows that she has a blown ear drum causing balance issue but more testing will be done. As for Missy being around people the SPCA says she is an absolute sweetheart.

The SPCA does recommend that Missy go to a family that can spend some time with her and is able to teach her how to be a calm, cool, and collected pup.

“She does have a little bit of resource guarding,” notes Brendan. “That’s something that she would also have to work through. But, she food motivated. She takes treats from you fine. It’s just when she’s eating her dinner, she doesn’t necessarily like you being right there with her.”

If you would like to adopt Missy you can visit the North Cariboo BC SPCA online or in person.
