City to host budget open house on October 30

PRINCE GEORGE— The City of Prince George is inviting you to make your voice heard as they begin to map out the 2025 municipal budget.

The City will be hosting an open house on Wednesday, October 30, at the Conference and Civic Centre. From 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. you will have a chance to speak one-on-one with your elected councillors, learn about city services and the budgeting process through presentations, play some trivia games, and take the budget survey.

Staff from the city will be on site to take on any specific service request for neighbourhood maintenance issues.

If you are unable to attend the Open House you can take the budget survey online. The deadline to participate is November 8.

The results of the surveys and townhall sessions will be gathered and presented to the Council Finance & Audit committee on December 4. The committee will also receive draft operating budget guidelines and a draft capital plan at the same meeting.

The City has scheduled two budget meetings on January 20 and 22, 2025 where council will deliberate on the final budget.
