Spruce Kings look to build off big win on home ice

Nov 7, 2024 | 4:19 PM

PRINCE GEORGE— The Spruce Kings are coming off their biggest win of the season, as they defeated the Victoria Grizzlies 8-2 on Saturday with their largest home crowd of the year.

This weekend they welcome the Cowichan Valley Capitals to Kopar Memorial Arena with big implications in the Coastal Conference standings.

Thanks to the Kings strong run of form lately, picking up points in five of their past seven games, they trail Cowichan Valley by just one point before Friday’s match-up.

It also marks the first time that former Capital Brock Cummings gets to compete against his old squad.

“I just want to just go out there and just beat them. That would always feel great and obviously have fun doing it. That’s all that matters,” said Cummings at practice Thursday.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. at Kopar Memorial Arena with a special ceremony for veterans taking place pre game ahead of Remembrance Day.
