Coldsnap set to return in 2025

PRINCE GEORGE—The Prince George Folkfest Society have announced the lineup for the eighteenth annual Coldsnap. Prince George’s premiere winter music festival will take place from February 5-9, 2024, and will feature live music in a variety of venues across the city.

The Knox Performance Centre will be the 2025 mainstage and will kick off the festival on February 5, with their ‘Breaking the Ice’ show. Experience the soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics of Mama’s Broke and John Wort Hannam. February 6 will feature high-energy fiddle-forward tunes from Beòlach and Jocelyn Pettit in Coldsnap’s ‘Cutbank Ceilidh’. Finally, ‘Roots and Reverie’ with Kaia Kater and Sechile Sedare will bring the house down for the final performance on February 9.

Legion 43 will host three late-night show this year. February 6 will have The Slocan Ramblers and Under the Rocks take to the stage for ‘Pickin’ & Grinnin’ show.This will be followed by Miesha & The Spanks and Wax Mannequin on February 7 for ‘Sonic-Subterranean’. The Legion’s final performance is ‘Dream Waves’ with St.Arnaud and The Garrys.

This year will also feature two Coldsnap for Kids afternoon performances. February 8 will feature precision percussion from Robin Layne & The Rhythm Makers, followed by Coldsnap alum Ginaline on February 9.

Coldsnap will also be bringing back their free-to-attend, daytime IceJam and Workshop series that will happening throughout the festival.

The festival will also feature artists from across Canada, including The Hearts, Cat Clyde, Kobo Town and more. Performances and venues are still being finalized and may change.

True music lovers can also get Coldsnaps new festival passes. The festival pass includes admission to both the main-stage concerts at the Knox Performance Centre and the Royal Canadian Legion. These are available in limited quantities for $99 – plus taxes and fees. All shows are available to purchase individually on Coldsnap’s website. Early bird pricing ends December 1, 2024.
