UNBC Students host community event to wrap up capstone project on sustainability
PRINCE GEORGE— A group of UNBC students in the Environmental and Sustainable Studies Program finished their “Greening PG” capstone project with a community gathering on Saturday.
“For our final report, we really wanted to have concrete data to give to our professor, and just talk about the things that we got from it and the things that the community brought in as well. There’s a lot of public engagement events that happen with the university and with different classes, but a lot of them stay within the university. So having this community wide initiative, and getting this information from what other people in the community, not just at UNBC are doing is really important to us,” said UNBC student Denae Meise.
Sustainability has become a very important topic worldwide, but it’s just as important in Prince George.
