RCMP seek man allegedly involved in fatal collision in Smithers

SMITHERS — Do you Timothy Bakanec? If yes, RCMP in Smithers would like to hear from you.
RCMP say that on October 20, 2021, Bakanec is alleged to have been involved in a collision at the intersection of Highway 16 and 16 Avenue in Smithers.
Police say the collision resulted in the death of the other vehicle’s driver and significant injuries to the passenger.
Timothy Bakanec has been charged with driving without due care and attention under Section 144(1)(a) of the Motor Vehicle Act and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
