Two weekend fires in Prince George including one that destroyed home on Davis Road

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a single-storey home structure fire in the 4100-block of Davis Road Sunday night.

Crews arrived on scene at 10:30 p.m. to find the home fully involved. According to a City of Prince George news release, crews “utilized a defensive attack to contain the fire to the property of origin.”

Damages to the home are estimate at $300,000 and the cause is under investigation. There were no injuries.

Prince George Fire Rescue also responded to a residential structure fire on the 3500 block of 5th Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

Crews arrived to the find the fire burning in the basement kitchen.

“The fire was in the early stages of development and the quick and decisive extinguishment efforts of Prince George Fire Rescue crews confined the fire to one room of the residence. Fire and smoke damage is estimated at $100,000.”

No one was injured and those residents displaced by the fire were provided temporary lodgings through Emergency Social Services.
