PRINCE GEORGE— From pickleball indoors to cross country skiing in Prince George’s back country, there is something that will suite your fancy in the City of PG’s recreation guide. They have partnered with a wide variety of local community associations looking to not only get you out of the house but active as well. Judy Orosz is the chair of the Hart Community Association and runs pickleball. She say it’s a great, easy to learn sport.

“As long as you have a group of people like we do, who really enjoy it, and they just want to come out here and have fun and do a little bit of exercising and socializing, then it’s just perfect for everybody,” says Judy

The pickleball crew currently play in Heather Park Elementary, right across from another group doing yoga.

Andrew White is the fitness instructors at the Yoga class and says that it’s an activity that not only improves his physical health but also his mental health. Andrew notes that the Yoga classes will become a boot camp, in January as those attending look to achieve their new years resolutions.

“I truly think it’s like the best boot camp that I’ve seen in all my years. There’s two of us that run them, we’re both certified personal trainers, and there’s so much variety,” says Andrew. “I say to my participants, if there’s a class you really don’t like, don’t worry because the next one will be different.”
