City and Humane Society begin partnership January 1
PRINCE GEORGE — A new partnership between the Prince George Humane Society and the City of Prince George goes into effect on January 1, 2025.
A five-year contract has been signed by both parties with the option of a three-year renewal. It means the Humane Society will deliver animal shelter operations for the City.
The Humane Society will take over the building previously used by the BC SPCA at 4011 Landsdowne Road. They will also be keeping their existing location on First Avenue.
“We are excited to have been selected to deliver this vital service for Prince George,” says Prince George Humane Society President Angela McLaren. “We look forward to building on the strong foundation of animal care established in the community. The feedback we have received so far in the community has been extremely positive.”
