PRINCE GEORGE- Community members along with RCMP and members of city council took part in a very emotional vigil Saturday night to remember the victims of the New Zealand mosque shooting. The vigil was away to show support and stand in solidarity with New Zealand and the local Muslim community.

The shootings claimed 50 lives and injured many others.

It may have not been the biggest turnout in terms of numbers but the people who attended made it clear that the Muslim community was not alone. Signs could be seen with messages of love and encouragement and it showed just how close Prince George is as a city and the encouragement that was displayed was something to take solace in for Muslims.

Attacks like the one in New Zealand put the focus on the safety of other mosques and Muslim communities around the world.
