Election campaign hits the home stretch

PRINCE GEORGE — A UNBC political scientist isn’t expecting any change Monday night when it comes to the two Prince George ridings (Cariboo-Prince George, Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies).

Both ridings are held by Conservatives and Dr. Fiona MacDonald isn’t expecting either to flip.

As for polls suggesting the NDP’s Taylor Bachrach may lose the Skeena- Bulkley Valley riding to Conservative challenger Ellis Ross, she says “anything can happen” on election night.

And while poll aggregators like 338Canada are suggesting the Liberals are in the driver’s seat to win government, MacDonald says we shouldn’t assume anything. She’s says we saw that in the United States with President Donald Trump’s victory in 2016.
