Liberals to form government

.

The federal Liberals have won the 45th general election, with the size of win still to be determined.
While the Liberals celebrate, the New Democrats will be left licking their wounds.
As the national tally continued to come in, it became clearer that the N-D-P could lose many of its seats as some left-centre voters turned to the Liberals as an alternative to Poilievre’s Conservatives.
Perhaps the biggest hit though is leader Jagmeet Singh losing his seat in B-C’s Burnaby Central. It appears the Liberals will form a minority government, as they are just shy of the 172 seats needed to form a majority government. As of 11:30 p.m Monday hight, the Liberals were leading or elected in 167 ridings to 145 for the Conservatives, 23 for the BQ, seven for the NDP and one for the Greens.
