PRINCE GEORGE – On September 25, 2025, at the Northern Angel Summit Finale in Prince George, business owners, investors, and entrepreneurs from throughout central and northern British Columbia will gather.

During this event, the final six business startups from across the North take the stage to make their final pitch to secure the business investment of $100,000.

One of the presenters is Josh Nilson who grew up in Willow River and has a message.

“I’m coming up there to talk about how we need to have more investment all over B.C, not just in Vancouver, Victoria or Kelowna, and we need to look at areas such as the North. It’s important to both sides to make sure that we have really good founders who are coming out with a good support system.

So the next level entrepreneurs, especially as we enter into this. Every job is a tech job phase of our lives we’re going through, but also to work with new angels, people that want to reinvest back in their community from there.”

He says COVID has taught people they no longer have to live in the big cities to do business.

“It did a couple of things. One of them was a lot of people started working from home and were able to know that all you need is your laptop to really start a business. I’m from Willow River, BC which is a 30-minute drive outside of Prince George. But preparing to work in tech, the investment advice I got is ‘You’re going to have to move to a city and you’re going to have to go to a university.’ So I think working remotely and at home gave people the resources that it’s more of an equality because you can work, you can get hired, from anywhere, and you don’t have to move away like I did. Plus, you have access to all the resources if you have a good Internet connection.”
