City invites public to weigh in on 2026 budget

PRINCE GEORGE — The City of Prince George is offering you the chance to fill out its annual budget survey.

It can be found on the City’s website and shows you how your tax dollars are distributed to various city services such as roads, infrastructure management, and protective services.

Council will review the results of the 2026 budget engagement later this year and consider resident feedback when making decisions in January. Last year’s survey attracted 930 responses.

In-person events coming this month

Residents who prefer to engage face-to-face will have three opportunities to chat with staff, ask questions, and learn more about the budget process. Three events are planned in October:

  • October 7, 4 to 7 p.m., Prince George Public Library Bob Harkins branch
    • Join City staff to learn about the budget process and ask questions.
  • October 9, 2 to 7 p.m., Pine Centre Mall
    • Join City staff for City Hall at the Mall across from Mr. Pretzels to learn about the budget process, participate in surveys, enter to win prizes, and have a coffee with Council members.
  • October 23, 8:30 to 11 a.m., CN Centre
    • Join City staff for a walk and talk during CN Centre indoor walking to learn about the budget process and how you can get involved.
