Eight arrested in Burns Lake drug bust

BURNS LAKE — Eight people were arrested in a Burns Lake drug bust Thursday (Oct.30).

RCMP made the arrests after searching three properties following a lengthy investigation.

Police seized over three 3kg of suspected illicit drugs, multiple firearms, and a signficant quantity of cash along with other items consistent with drug trafficking.

“Burns Lake RCMP have successfully removed a significant amount of illicit drugs from circulation in a coordinated operation aimed at disrupting the local trafficking networks,” said Sergeant Anthony Brooks, Operations NCO for the Burns Lake RCMP. “The operation highlights the continued effort and commitment at protecting our communities, reducing harm to individuals, and reinforcing the efforts against this type of illegal drug activity.”

The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid.
