PRINCE GEORGE — Colin Reay picked up his third BCHL shutout and first with the Prince George Spruce Kings, who beat the Chilliwack 4-0 at Kopar Memorial Arena Saturday (Nov. 29) night.

Reay stopped all 31 shots he faced as the Spruce Kings swept the weekend series against the BCHL’s runner-up from last season.

Matic Perčič got the Spruce Kings fans on their feet just 2:51 into the game with the only goal of the first period.

Evan Bellamy and River Aranson both beat Chiefs goaltender David Di Girolamo to make it 3-0 after two periods, before Tai Ushio rounded out the scoring with an empty netter in the final minute of the game.

The Spruce Kings improve to 12-9-1 and sit second in the Coastal East division with 25 points from 22 games. The 9-11-1 Chiefs are in the fourth place with 19 points from 21 games.

The Spruce Kings continue on their home stand with a pair of games against the Victoria Grizzlies this weekend. Saturday’s (Dec. 6) game is the annual Drop The Gloves and Sock it To Em game in support of St. Vincent de Paul.
